The evaluation process typically involves the submission of a questionnaire. The questionnaire asks for you to rate different behaviours in different situations. The diagnostic process is generally longer than a typical psychiatric examination. It can take as long as two sessions to receive an accurate diagnosis. The evaluation will also include an organized interview with a mental health specialist, with an adult family member or friend present to give additional information.<br><br>If your GP cannot refer you to private treatment, you can always go to the NHS for the diagnosis. A GP may also refer you to an expert neurobehavioural psychiatrist when you believe your symptoms may be ADHD.
