The dealer was detained and later found guilty.<br><br>In addition to supplying cocaine as well, Dr Ovais Badat was found guilty of fraud, possession of an illegal Class B drug and manufacturing products for use in frauds. Dr Ovais Badat, a Wiltshire Partnership Mental Health NHS Trust employee, was also found to having the Class A drug Ketamine. The convictions have led to his being removed from his position and also his medical practice.<br><br>Following the arrest, Avon and Somerset Police began an investigation into the incident. Badat was found to be writing prescriptions under the false name of a patient. CCTV footage captured him taking these prescriptions. The police were shocked when Badat said he'd committed a crime, but denied the charge. But, his actions were a breach of trust and they now face being barred from the medical profession.<br><br>The case involving Dr. Ovais Badat is very troubling. Not only was he convicted of providing cocaine to a child but he was also found guilty of preparing articles for fraudulent purposes and possessing the Class B drug Ketamine.
