The process of assessment typically involves a questionnaire filled out by the person who is receiving the assessment. The questionnaire asks you to rate specific behaviors in different situations. The process of diagnosis is typically longer than a typical psychiatric examination. It could take two sessions to arrive at the diagnosis. An evaluation consists of a structured clinical interview with a psychiatrist expert. A GP could also refer you to a specialist neurobehavioural psychiatrist if you believe your symptoms may be ADHD.
